LP lock and burn: can the liquidity be pulled?

The liquidity pool is what lets you sell. If the LP tokens are locked or burned, the deployer cannot withdraw the pool; if they aren't, they can drain it in one transaction.

What it is

When a token gets a trading pair, the provider receives LP tokens representing the pool. Burning them (sending to a burn address) or locking them in a time-lock contract removes the ability to withdraw the liquidity.

Why it matters

Pulling liquidity is the classic rug: the pool empties, the chart goes vertical down, and nobody can sell. LP lock percentage is the share of the pool that cannot be pulled.

What good looks like

90-100% locked or burned. pump.fun graduations burn the LP automatically; manual Raydium launches vary.

Caveats

A lock has an expiry. A 100% lock for 7 days is not the same as a burn. Also, a dev can add a second, unlocked pool later.
